Paul C Gorski Ph.D,
Paul C. Gorskihas B.A. in Sociology and Rhetoric and Communication from the University of Virginia; an M.Ed. in Education from the University of Virginia, a Certificate in Humane Education Specialist from the Humane Society University; and a PhD in Education from the University of Virginia. Moreover, Dr. Paul C. Gorski is the founder of the Equity Literacy Institute and EdChange. He has spent nearly 25 years working with schools and other educational organizations around the world on building equitable learning environments. He has taught at George Mason University, where he developed undergraduate and graduate programs in Social Justice and Human Rights, as well as Hamline University, the University of Maryland–College Park, the University of Virginia, and the Humane Society University. His primary interests include poverty and economic justice, racial justice, queer justice, and animal rights. He has served on the board of the International Association for Intercultural Education. Paul has written 70 articles and written, co-written, or co-edited 12 books on various topics related to educational equity and justice. His books include Reaching and Teaching Students in Poverty: Strategies for Erasing the Opportunity Gap and Case Studies on Diversity and Social Justice Education (with Seema Pothini).He lives with his cat Buster in Asheville, North Carolina.
